The week of 1st June to 8th June saw Thrapston host its first Arts Festival.  Over the eight days more than 30 different participants held events in eleven venues around town.  The events ranged from static exhibitions and displays to workshops and demonstrations, concerts and bellringing.  The vast majority of the participants were local to Thrapston and really showcased the diverse talents that residents have.

There has been tremendous, positive feedback on all aspects of the festival and a huge “thank you” is extended to all the participants and the residents who turned out in support.  Such effort, commitment, talent and enthusiasm was extended by everyone.  Particular mention must go to the Yarn Bombers whose magnificent recreation of Thrapston, which was displayed in St James’ church, drew crowds and admiration from all quarters.

The question “will there be another?” is under consideration so watch this space!
