Queen's Platinum Jubilee Best Decorated Shop Window competition

Queen's Platinum Jubilee Best Decorated Shop Window competition

Thrapston Town Council held a competition for local businesses in the town to decorate their shop windows with their Jubilee finest to celebrate the Queen's 70 year reign.

Thrapston High Street was awash with bunting and images of the Queen, and it was wonderful to see so many different interpretations of the Jubilee. The competition was judged by the Mayor, Cllr Craig Wheeler with first place awarded to Thrapston Farm and Garden. Their shop window featured a display of products with the Royal Warrant and some great pun work with an insect hotel renamed 'BUGingham Palace'!

Second place was awarded to Help & Safety at Work whose window display featured images of the Queen from across her reign. Third place was given to Sharman Quinney on the High Street, who had displayed a life-size cardboard cut of the Queen over the weekend.

Thank you to all the businesses who took the time to decorate their shops for the weekend. You helped to make Thrapston look fantastic for the Jubilee celebrations.
