Sunday 31st July saw Thrapston's Mayor, Cllr Craig Wheeler host his Civic Service and reception. He had the presence of the Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire, the High Sheriff of Northamptonshire, 30 other Mayors and Mayoresses from local councils as well as some of Thrapston's past Mayor's and current Councillors.

Bat and Chat at the Nene Centre

Bat and Chat at the Nene Centre

The Nene Centre is holding 'Bat and Chat' social sessions every Tuesday from 1-2pm from 19th July.

Participants can play table tennis, grab a coffee and have a chat. The sessions are free for members, £3 for non-members and £5 for two people.

Queen's Platinum Jubilee certificate

Queen's Platinum Jubilee certificate

Thrapston Town Council was one of 34 councils in Northamptonshire who lit their beacon as part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations earlier this month.

The Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire received a certificate of grateful recognition from Bruno Peek LVO OBE OPR, the Queen's Pageant Master, to circulate to Councils for taking part in this momentous occasion.

Turn Up and Play

Turn Up and Play is back this summer at the Peace Park in Thrapston and elsewhere across North Northamptonshire.

On Monday 25th July and Monday 1st August, children aged between 8-13 years old will be able to enjoy two hours of sport and crafting activities. Community Litter Pick - Saturday 23rd July

The next community litter pick will take place on Saturday 23rd July at 10am until 12noon.

Residents are invited to meet at the Thrapston Town Council office (77 High Street) at 10am and all equipment will be provided. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing, and ensure all children are accompanied by an adult.

Thrapston Town Council held a competition for local businesses in the town to decorate their shop windows with their Jubilee finest to celebrate the Queen's 70 year reign.

Thrapston Town Council encouraged residents over the Platinum Jubilee weekend to host their own street parties with friends and neighbours across the town.
